Jason's letters #3

 September 30th,

Well Riverwood is a nice change of pace, I know mom and dad only want me to protect me and help live my best life. I just wish we didn't have to start a whole new life. I'm really not bored though, I'm being very serious about becoming a superhero we even have our own secret base and everything. We might be in over our heads, because apparently ghosts are real. but as long as we can do good here in Riverwood then that's what matters in the long run. 

School's so busy. I have a short essay assignment for English class already, I dislike having to write them, It's always so frustrating. All my other subjects are going well, Geometry is good, I understand it. Earth science isn't too hard. World History is quite interesting, but the teacher makes it boring. P.E. is fun, we're doing Football  right now, we had a Mile time trial last week, my time was 5:12, guess the training back home really did help, I am a superhero now anyway. 

Enough about all that, how are things over there at base?

9/27/42

 More rain! things have been very quiet, at least for a day or two, I'm kinda in the middle of some feud between Kate and Kasey, It started as them fighting over Adam and escalated. Kasey got mad at Kate a couple days ago. But they seem concerned for me. I guess I've been seeming distant after starting this superhero stuff, I should probably ask Kasey if can go to the lab sometimes, her birthday is in a few days too I almost forgot. 

I wish Dad were here, It's hard to balance all of this, school, being a superhero, Helping mom, I wonder how dad handled hero life, It's not like whar I expected it to be, but I'll get used to it.

 Ugh this weather is so depressing, it's ben dark and rainy these last two days :( I think it's affecting me, I'm feeling under the weather (no pun intended lolol). I Kind of lashed out at Kate, I'm just annoyed of course, who does she think she is talking to my boyfriend,  like that, what do they talk about, do she and Adam say anything about me. I feel bad for Danny too, he's dragged into all this, and he doesn't seem too happy, I'd better check in on him too. 

Everything's so weird lately, well at least my birthday is soon

Mission Log #3

 September  25th, 2042

At18:00 We were going to investigate raide labs but we got caught in a little brawl with VIPER before we could get there, I think he was tracking us. We've gotten stronger from the training courses but so has he, he's already repaired and upgraded his suit. 

He was flying around, testing out his new suit, I'm assuming, when it all went down. "Well It's nice to see you again, i've been looking forward to this" He declared as he noticed us. "I've been wondering where you were hiding Viper, I've found you". We furiously chased him on our bikes as we avoided a barrage missile fire that aimed straight at us, leaving some goosebumps on our skin, and lasers that almost scorched us.  Jason to abandoned warehouses, we could feel the engines accelerate as he soared away hoping to avoid us. This whole encounter lasted like almost an hour, from a long range chase to a close up slugging between us. We finally confronted each other at what he seemed to be using as a makeshift base, some old warehouse, not to far from Raide Labs, Jason fired some multi-arrows, these cool ones that split and explode on contact at him, he seemed pretty fazed "Hah, nice trick it'll take more than that though" as Jason stepped back I came up behind with a surprise slash to the suit with my daggers, they glowed a dark purple glow as they grazed his armor, they feel lighter than when i first started using them. .He barely blocked it, and shifted his focus toward me. "So, Where'd you get these nice daggers, mind if I get some of them to power my suit". "You'll never get these, We wont let you" I replied after ducking and landing a blow to His chest plate. "We'll see about that" he retorted after another exchange of blows, Then he fired up his cannon attachment and blasted me across the floor, again. I guess he used up all of his suit's power because he seemed really worn down from flying and fighting, because when Jason fired an multi arrow at a neon light fixture he dodged (Barely), But then an electrical arrow straight at Viper, zapping him shut him down. Ending this brawl and giving us a chance to leave victoriously. We still have a long way to go, and a lot to learn. It was already late, guess we'll have to go to the lab some other time.

Vipers log september 25th: Flight test 2/ Mech development

    Well it's not raining today so lets try this again.

Suit: Online and calibrated

Targeting system: Operational 

Jet propulsion system- Operational

boot thrusters-  Online at 100% still need work, able to get off the ground and propel into air at constant speed

top speed- 80 MPH

Flight time: 25 minutes

Very good test, needs a good battery source for longer flight. But all this work, Salvaging this old VT graveyard for parts, Sneaking into VT headquarters for supplies. Spending all those late nights in my room when I should probably be sleeping, these fight tests, It's all to prove myself.

This is how I Make an name for myself, To not only show My dad and his company what I can do, but the whole world.

If that ONYX HAZE, or someone else, thinks they're strong enough to take on the world, or take on this city

They doesn't realize this city's ready for them.

Well, Oh great, Onyx Haze and his new friend found me again, We both seemed more prepared, they seemed to have some upgrades as well  than last time. I was ready for them, but that Archer Blade guy's a really good shotWell as long as This next project is safe. I'm trying to look for that energy source which seems to power their tech, I think it's those onyx like crystals his weapon's made of, The suit worked very well. but with that I'll be unstoppable.

Well it's time to weld and salvage again, The next project is this Scrapped EXTREMO BOT. It's twice as big a a regular VIPERBOT, with a lot more capabilities, but just like the suit it needs some work.

Diary entry #13

 9/25/42

Jason and I are doing a patrol today, trying to see if we can figure out what VT is doing I could probably just ask Kasey, if I could join her and her dad at the lab, but she's been easily annoyed and irritable lately so that's not really an option. Everyone at the lunch table seems pretty preoccupied by something, We all get along (for the most part, Don't know how much Sam likes sitting at the table, he's not always sitting here) But we've been getting sorta distant.

Anyways, No signs of that VIPER guy either, maybe he's helping with whatever they're next big project is. Guess I'll find out sooner or later

Viper's log: September 23rd, 2042- Upgraded suit: Flight Test 1

    Well lets try this.

Suit calibration- Done

Jet propulsion system- Operational

Flight time: 12 minutes

 The flight test went well, the suit flies pretty good, it's not fast but it works. Riverwood city has some cool views. I think It's starting to rain so I'm doing another test tomorrow. I'll Make my way back home when I learn to fly high

There's some more scrapped bots at the docks, Gonna see if I can more spare parts to build something bigger, If Onyx Haze can do some decent damage to this suit, then I need something stronger, I have some ideas.

September 23rd-A rainy Day

Raide Labs- 10:00 A.M.

Marek Raide had just pulled up to the entrance gate of his lab, Stopping to show the young security guard his badge proving that he was in fact Dr. Marek Raide, owner and Head scientist of Raide Labs. "Have a good day sir" The young male security guard called. "You too" He replied cheerfully, he was glad to finally be back after a short weekend vacation with his wife Lily, They'd gone to Crestwater beach a bout two hours away, where they had a small family beach house. While he was glad to be back be in Riverwood,  He had to admit, that they'd had both enjoyed the getaway.

    As he pulled closer into the lot, Marek's was surprised to see so many trucks with a VT logo. David Lane was waiting at the front entranceway, and intentionally marched to greet Marek with a hand shake. "Hello Marek how are you" He boomed as. guards watched the interaction between the two men carefully I hope you enjoyed your vacation, if you don't mind, I'd like you to show me how you operate things here at Raide Labs"  "Ah Yes, good to see you Mr. Lane, Follow me, I hope this partnership wont be a waste". He remarked as the two walked calmly into the sleek entranceway into Dr. Raide's masterpiece of scientific discovery.

Riverwood High School- 11:50

    The school day seemed quite slow, The bell had just rang, and Danny and Adam had just gotten out of Mr. Stevenson's biology lab. The two of them were on their way to lunch when Kate and her clique of friends turned the corner and joined the two. Kate distanced herself from her giggling group of friends, to join the boys. "Hey Danny, Adam, hoes it going?" "Oh hey Kate" Adam spoke up "It's going pretty good, i'm tired though" "yeah, how's Kasey?" "Good, we've been very busy, hanging out almost every other day her parents just got back from a vacation." Danny's perked up a little "Oh really" He muttered" He contemplated something in his mind. Just got back from a vacation, So Viper Tech was moving in while Mr. Raide was away, what could they need to do there? "Yeah, and her birthdays next week we were-" Then as if on cue Kasey marched right up next to Adam.

     "Hey Kasey, we were just talking about you" Kate exclaimed. Kasey glanced at her "Hey Danny" she said cheerfully " Hi Kate" she scowled "I'd Prefer that you didn't talk to Adam about me behind my back, I can't deal with this right now. I've got a headache, probably because of the weather, and I think it's gonna rain. C'mon Adam lets go!" "Kase- It's not- nevermind" Adam tried to explain as Kasey snatched his hand and sulked away. 

    Geez, rude" Kate remarked as she realized Danny was still there "Dan? you ok, you've been pretty quiet lately, that's not like you" Dan perked up again "Oh, yeah I'm fine just...thinking about stuff, zoned out a little" "Ok, well let me know if you need to say something, that's what friends are for" Kate replied, trying to be supportive "Ok," Danny replied back, he knew she meant well, but he didn't think it was a good idea to share what he was thinking about during Kasey's outburst.

Riverwood City- 4:45

    Sam Lane was doing a flight test in his new upgraded suit. Soaring above the city feeling the fresh air.

    This was all a secret, unbeknownst to either of his parents, He couldn't let them know he was VIPER. even with other heroes on the loose, His dad definitely would definitely dismantle the suit, and give it to the development team as spare part, he'd probably be told to work to develop more suits, to "help the company", but it wasn't what he wanted. He just knew His dad would be grounding him for a long time, and taking away his equipment if he'd found out too. His mom would probably say something like "You shouldn't be doing this, Sam, leave protecting the city to your dad and his security force" 

Even with these doubts in his mind, he was enjoying himself immensely as he sped past skyscrapers and city streets, and Sam was glad to have some freedom to view the city from a new perspective. Even if it was starting to rain.

Diary Enrty #12

9/22/42 

Another week, It's Just another Manic Monday.(I blame my dad for knowing this song)

Anyway, I can't believe what happened last week. That VIPER guy didn't show up, but I guess Some People at Viper Tech, are suspicious of My dad's disappearance, Though no one really spoke out of course, Mr. Lane would have'm fired. Mr. Stone seemed to want to help me, maybe I'll talk to him again. I think my cover might be blown, that "Iron Fang" almost seemed to figure out my identity, weird.

Anyway I've gotta keep searching for clues. Though I need to focus on school too. Dad wouldn't want me to slack off at school "Keep it up and you'll be as smart as me in no time" he'd say. Boy I do miss him anyway

 One week till my birthday! I'm So excited! Adam I are hanging out again today, he says he has something big planned for next week I CAN'T WAIT! Anyway mom and dad come back tomorrow evening, I hope they had a nice time. also I've been feeling a little under the weather again recently, I wonder if its due to being at dad's lab too much, I guess this vacation was a good break for all of us. Viper Techs working with dad for research now  can't really go there anymore, even though I like the lab :(. Well the school years starting to get just a little busier, so I can't spend all my time there anyway.

This week's gonna be great I just Know it:)))))

 

Viper's log: September 22nd, 2042

  Dad's still somewhat worried about what's been going on. Though he's been really busy running the company. They made some research partnership with Raide Labs, guess that's where they're moving all the stuff in storage to. I don't talk to Kasey too much, so I don't know all the details, but the work her dad does seems odd to me. I really don't understand what Viper Tech wants with it. Anyway, I've continued to repair the suit. It's almost ready, which is good since that ONYX HAZE guy showed up again, with a friend, some guy whose a really good archer. Looks like my suit idea caught on too. guess someone at Their R&D decide to try and copy it and give it to security guards, Nothing beats the OG though.

David Lane: Ah, Mr Stone, Ms. Reyes how nice of you to join us please take a seat! Todays meeting we are discussing the current budget and production plan for the end of this year. I hope you all will be able to contribute to make end this year successfully.

 Other board members: Yes Sir

CFO( Mark Maron): Sir, if I may, I'd like to start with my report...

In the past two months, we’ve made considerable revenue from the upgraded VIPER  Laser Technology, particularly in the security sector — however...
We’ve also lost several thousand due to the VIPERbot launch failure.

David: And why is that?

Head of Operations (Cassidy Malone): We've been investigating this issue internally sir, but it seems to all lead back to the recent incidents — those attacks.

Which, If I recall correctly, our Security bots were built to protect us from?

Head of R&D (Alex Hoover) (Angrily): I can assure you they are fully equipped with our latest technology! Those bots are already already patrolling here in Riverwood. Yet Samson here thinks its wise to prevent them from doing his job, and let some young teenagers "play superhero", Don't you Mr. stone.?

Samson Stone: I'm Doing no such thing! I've been head of security since You took over for your father, Mr. Lane, I've been part of this board for a while now too, And believe  I've done a great service in my current position.  I'm doing everything I can sir, I have no idea how they've got the information they did, but I have nothing to do with them.

David lane: (Slams desk) Mr. stone, I have no doubt of your loyalty to this company, HOWEVER, I'm wondering how you've been unable to catch them EVERY TIME they attack us, or provide any insight as to who they are. Because I think we all want an explanation!

Samson Stone: Mr. Lane, They're just some random teenagers. But they're Looking for James Black. I don't think they're a problem, I believe we're very close to catching them.

David lane: Just some Teenagers? To me it seems like they aren't Just some teenagers. You say they're searching for Mr. Black, Well I know you were good friends with him but we can't go on some wild goose chase for him and let this city be destroyed, We have a business to run.

If you can't accept that maybe i'll have someone else take over the position

 Stone: Sir! I-

David: Stone, calm down, you're not facing any dire consequences yet, I trust you and Ms. Reyes will handle it, though I hope it'll be sooner, rather than later. Now,  Miss Reyes, before we continue, You've been with working with Samson, and were acquaintances with Mr. Black weren't you? Do you have anything to add to this situation?

Nina Reyes (Flustered): No Sir, all I'll say don't feel it's fair to have us step down.  

(She starts to speak up) I don't feel as though just a couple of kids Sir. the problem it's something larger and unrelated, the first attack at the expo was different, There's something larger going on,

Something larger than any of us, and I think we're either hiding it, or we're overlooking it completely. That's all

(Silence as the board members exchange fierce and inquisitive glances around the room)

Reyes: May we go sir?

David: (clears his throat) Ah, Yes Ms. Reyes, If that is all you and Mr. Stone have to report, you may go, have a nice day.

Reyes (seething): Thank you. (Reyes and Stone Leave)

Vipers Log September 15th, 2042

To deal with dad's curfew, Ive hacked the camera in my room, I've got the suit in my room, but I can't let him know. He'd definitely be unhappy, yeah unhappy. A lot of wear and tear on it, I need to sneak out to the docks again for parts anyways, those daggers really destroyed this suit, but it shouldn't take longer than building the darn thing. Mom's worried too of course, I don;t know what she does or doesn't know, but i think dad and her are working together to make everything seem all right for me, "Oh Sam, hon, you know you're fathers a busy man, and only trying to look out for us" She'd say. I guess I never knew how hard it would be to live here where my last name is so important, and you hear something new about what your dad's doing everyday. I've gotta get back to repairing Another update when I'm done.

 Mom and dad are on a vacation this weekend currently, mom planned it as a surprise for dad, she wanted him to take his mind of his work, and some time alone leaving me and Cam home alone. I don't mind too much, Our aunt's watching us. Ugh, I have some homework to do, but I'm so bored, not much I can do without mom and dad around, though they did let me see Adam.

    Anyways get this, there's another "vigilante" around teaming up with one of them, apparently their still going after Viper Tech. They don't seem much older than me, I wonder who they are? Speaking of Viper tech, I think Dad signed that deal to partner with them for research.  Dad never seemed to fond of working with them, I'd like to know what made him change his mind, and more importantly what do they want Dad's lab for? 

Can't wait to see Adam tomorrow! yay

Mission log #2

 September  20th, 2042

Ok we went to the HQ. Dad had some stuff they'd used before in a weapon storage unit. At least we won't bruise as easily. With a couple modifications, Jason's arrows can damage VT Tech now (Hopefully). I can't believe how well built this HQ is, all underneath VT's nose. We tested out the basic training course, Apparently designed by dad's good friend and VT Security head Samson Stone. I don't know how much it'll help, but a little team bonding and coordination didn't hurt. 

Now To the Mission:

This turned out a lot better,  We followed a truck in a long parade, Jason (Archer Blade, as he decided to be called) fired a tracking arrow onto a truck, guess the guards were waiting for us, The two emerged from a truck up front, The blue one sprinting and leaping quickly towards, with the larger guy in the silver and black suit flying up behind her. "Listen kids" The one in the black suit called "I don't know who you are, or what you're doing, but you should know better than to try and take us on" The woman in the blue suit added "I don't know what you know about us, but we're SnakeBite and Iron Fang, some of the best operatives Viper Tech has" "besides James, but that's besides the point" she muttered "Oh great, you've got codenames, how nice" I heard Jason remark (I gotta apologize to that kid, this was more than he definitely bargained for, but he's caught on quick, guess he picked up some stuff living on a base.) While exchanging blows and dagger strikes with Iron fang I asked "What do you know about James Black, were you responsible for what's happened" "Is that what your here for kid. I wish I could give you answers, you don't know the half of our history, I'm the last person who'd want to see that man go, you remind me of him" I think we both had some realization like we'd seen each other, and the training course's program was barely keeping us from taking a huge beating, These moves seemed too similar but we kept up, they sorta gave up with fighting, it was getting tiring for all of us "See ya around" he called sarcastically, feeling a little worn out "make sure not to get caught again" either way J used a smoke device to let us briefly escape and disable the truck, then we rode off. 

We figured out they're going to Raide Labs, Why? I don't know but al least we've got a lead and that's a win in my book   

Mission log #1

September 19th, 2042

At about 1700 (5:00), we met up at the waterfront, to stake out the docks. They were crowded, VIPERBots, Security guards, and while that VIPER guy was there someone at VT must've copied his idea because there were security guards in new upgraded suits similar to his (If it ain't broke, don't fix it I guess). We snuck closer to the old gate, they seemed to be loading a huge line of trucks with the destroyed bots and other lab equipment that got destroyed but where to? I wonder if they're keeping my dad there too?    

Anyway, the trucks started their departure, so we followed (Bad Idea), we barely avoided getting caught scaling onto the roof of a truck, A VIPERBot missile grazed past us. With a boost from my powers, Jason was able to shoot a small hole in the back of a truck with and arrow, and I jumped down through a roof hatch. We ended up having to fight those armored guards, there was one woman in  a Metallic silver and blue "Power suit", and the other was a larger more muscular man in a black and purple one. We were able to dismantle some bots, but were having trouble with the guards, those suits really pack a punch. the blue suit guard was firing projectiles at Jason, it was a long ranged battle (Good thing he's quick, damage from something like that would be hard to explain) and I barely could keep up with the other. After no more than three minutes, J sent a flaming arrow in the truck (I think he lit it with a match or something) and we hopped of that new upgraded bike I have.

 Boy that didn't go well, But i guess Jason doesn't regret his decision, all he said was "I think we make an ok team for only one mission, same time tomorrow?" 
Sure Jason, Same time tomorrow!

SEPT 5th-Incident

 

September 5th

The Final School Bell Rang for the day. The uneventful halls were crowding with the lull of students walking to and from their lockers before leaving out the main doors. Jason Jays had just closed his locker. As he was gradually walking away from it, Sam Lane, Vince Baker, Gavin Mackie and Fallon Westwood were strolling in the opposite direction. Sam stepped forward purposely brushing up against Jason's shoulder, then reaching his hands forward made an impact on his chest, pushing Jason backward. "Hey, new kid, be careful watch where you're going." Sam exclaimed. "Seriously" Jason snapped back, lunged forward and forcefully launched his fist at his chest. Vince and Gavin step forward, Fallon stepped back. Sam and  Jason exchange blows, Sam seeming to have an upper hand, getting in a good kick and a gut punch. A few passersby's were watching though the fight was relatively not that big. Danny got a glance of the action from down the hall, picked up speed "Is Sam really doing this right now" he muttered. Sam and Gavin were about to land  big punches almost at Jason's face when Danny jumped in, grabbing Sam's fist and swiping Gavin's away, the group was surprised, they weren't used to the strength Danny had. Danny supposed it must've been from the Onyx Power. "You're still doing this?" "Old habits die hard Dan. when'd you get so tough, Eh doesn't matter, see ya around I've got better stuff to do." The group walked away Danny walked with Jason "you alright?" Danny asked "Yeah, I could've handled 'em, wasn't in the mood but thanks" "hmm, you're Jason, nice to meet you I guess, see ya around"

VT Board Members: Higher-Ups at Viper Tech In each sector (finance-Mark Maron, engineering-Trent Fisk, Research & Development-Alex Hoover, Head of  Operations- Cassidy Malone, production/External affairs-Mavis Joules, security- Samson Stone) meet with CEO David lane frequently. All seem to be aligned to expand VT's reach and influence. Dissent and disagreement with Lane's vision is possible, but not public. Some are directly Involved With VT missions and operations.

Ghosts:

Ghost King: Real Name: Marek Raide  Appearance: A giant red blue and black Ghost from the ghost realm, known as king of the ghosts, has claw like hands, wears a black crown like object on his head. Powers: Flame Powers, Ghost Energy Blasts, Invisibility, Phasing, Flight/Levitation, and Enhanced Strength. 

Wraiths: Appearance: multicolored ghosts, usually Purple, Blue, Black, Red, and Gray ghosts who each wear cloaks or some armor, helping them to maintain their form and show their status .Powers: (Varies between Wraiths) All have the ability to possess humans, and are able to replicate human speech to some degree, as well as Ghost Energy Blasts, Invisibility, Phasing, Flight/Levitation.

Spectres:  Appearance:  transparent grayish shadows with red eyes. Weak ghosts that escape to the human world. Powers: Phasing, Flight/Levitation, and Enhanced Strength. 

Onyx Warriors:

Mutant: Giant monster Released through overload of Onyx Energy (Hypothetical), corrupting the user. Appearance: Black and purple shadow-giant with Glowing red eyes. Powers: Monster Physiology, (user transforms into Mutant) Enhanced Strength and Combat abilities, (Due to Enraged/Overloaded state) Onyx Energy Blasts, and Onyx Energy Manipulation.

Other Villains:

Dream Queen(Azealia): Real Name: Katie Brea Appearance: Pink/purple robes and giant silver crystal crown almost clear-liquidlike skin. Powers: The Dream Queen has total control over the Dream Realm/Dream World, a personal separate space which she can go to and from at any time, has capabilities to bring others to the dream world (Teleportation). With this she has the power of Dream Manipulation/induction, Nightmare Creation/Induction. Ability to enter dreams, Telekinetic Powers, Flight/Levitation, Illusion Creation, and Dream Energy Blasts.

Bio: David Lane  is the VIPER TECHNOLOGIES CEO, and son of founder Maxwell Lane. Mr.  Lane is married to Mrs. Emily Lane, They have a son, Samuel Lane, who goes by the alias VIPER. Mr. Lane helped Expand his father's company into a mega corporation, Creating products and work for multiple sectors, when he took over in 2022, has run it ever since. In this new position, Riverwood city has come to be known as "Tech Capital of the World". As the CEO of the opmany his ulterior motives are quite suspicious and unclear. VT(Viper Tech) and David himself, are under investigation due to the events of August 21st, 2042

Bio:  James black, a former VIPER TECH employee (VT Security Innovations director) who went missing after their tech expo on August 21st. He previously took on on the mantle of Onyx Haze. He is married to Mia Black, and has a son Daniel Black, who now possesses the Onyx Daggers Seems to have been given the Onyx Daggers right before his father's disappearance. He was the current leader of Team Onyx, which he formed. Team Onyx is a secret organization connected to, but operates separately from VIPER TECH.
