Here Comes The Rain Again- Eurythmics
5:00 PM Raide Labs
Marek Raide and his daughter Kasey arrived at Raide labs for the demonstration of Mr. Raide's new Technological discovery. Mr. Lane, Head of VIPER Tech was present, along with Mavis Joules, and his two head of security Director Stone and Agent Nina Reyes. The weather outside was grey and overcast as dark clouds loomed above as the two arrived. The dad and daughter duo made their way, Kasey felt a little reserved. She sent a text to Danny, who'd promised be there after what they witnessed over the weekend, she knew her dad would allow it, but to be honest Danny was a little unsure about the whole thing as well. He was debating whether Onyx Haze or Daniel Black needed to show up, with his luck it was better to be more safe than sorry.
Danny arrived at Raide labs at 5:10 "Here" he responded to Kasey's message. Hopefully this is quick he thought to himself. A small spray of rain was starting as he arrived, he walked at a brisk pace to avoid it and get into the building before anything happened.
Kasey breathed a small sigh of relief as she saw the notification while making her way to the elevator. Phew, good, maybe this won't be so bad. She looked around the mundane lab, which she'd walked around so many time, and made a small mental note of the outside weather, the rain was now starting to pour hard, she knew it would happen, like an instinct, but didn't know it would pour this hard.
Danny surveyed the outside perimeter as he walked in, and was a little surprised by the lack of security. He assumed it was because of an after-hours shift change, there were a few VT security agents and 2 bots but not much else. He'd had a guest pass from Professor Raide if he needed to show he'd had permission to be there.
walking into the building, Danny noticed the atmosphere of the building, was different, it felt damp and very similar to the last time he was there. He walked slowly to the elevator as some VIPERBots patrolled around the floor, walking in the opposite directions he was. "Who are you-What Are you doing here"
"I have a guest pass, my name is Daniel Black"
"Guest are not allowed at this time, come with us"
"Yeah right ,Professor Raide gave me access, I'm allowed"
"Come with u-" Danny lunged forward grabbing the daggers that he'd brought along in his bag. He really wished he didn't have to do this, but he knew if the VIPERBots were blocking the access to the elevator, then something was definitely going wrong. He knew he'd probably have to get rid of the bots before more help arrived, he still wanted to be cautious about his identity. "Sorry but I'm going through" he said landing a powered up right hook to one of the bots and spinning around to kick the other. making sure the coast was clear, and moving the bots "out of sight" which was just into an empty part of the hallway. He turned the corner and pressed the button to access the elevator.
As Danny was making his way down, Mavis Joules and Professor Raide were on the test floor so Marek could showcase what he'd been working on to the VIPERTech board members and his daughter, who was in attendance, and wondering where Danny was. Her father was down on the test floor bragging about the nature of his "scientific breakthrough"
"Would you like to turn it on Mr. Lane, just a little, It's still a work in progress" David Lane obliged pulling a lever on a control panel in front of him forward ever so slightly.
"Ms. Reyes, report to the upper levels, Stone can deal with any trouble down here, besides, who knows if Onyx Haze or any other vigilante will show up"
Upon hearing this Kasey perked up a little, she wondered where Danny could be, was something going on above? Plus she wanted to see exactly what her dad had been working on, everyone in the room would be lying if they weren't a little curious about what exactly they were currently looking at. As the giant portal, (as there really wasn't any other way for the observers to to describe it) powered up. Raide and Joules were wearing special Hazmat suits with laser-tazer guns to protect themselves. the machine started to power up and conduct electricity form the equipment the two were using, in addition to the tanks And VIPERBots, which VT had been housing on this metallic grey testing floor, about the same size as the main complex above.. A strange noise was heard on the floor. In that moment, out of confusion and fear, the two fired in the direction of the viper bots, causing a small commotion.
Mr. Lane amped up the power and called down to the floor below through intercom "What's going on down there Raide, I'd prefer for you to keep my equipment intact" Raide gave a "hmph" to show he understood, but really didn't like being bossed around
just then the portal flared a bright flash of purple, and giant crimson creature started to fade from the portal into the room.filling up the unoccupied space between the portal,Ms. Joules and Mr. Raide. Everyone stared in shock at what they were witnessing, no one could explain what they were looking at.It was a fearsome crimson creature with giant claws and giant white eyes that felt like they were looking through you. The elevator chimed as danny had arrived on the basement floor, however no one heard due to the strange creature in front of their eyes.
"Wellll I guess it worrrkedd" The creature announced "You did it Marek Raide, but i'm not done yettt" as he lunged toward Professor Raide "YOU'RE COMING WITH ME"
Mr. Lane pressed a button switching on the tanks and viperbots which were idling below, and Silas propelled himself to the floor to try and stop whatever it was that was threatening them. Kasey who couldn't bear to watch turned away to sadly, leaving the control room out of fear? anxiety? She didn't know what was going on. then she bumped into Danny
"A-are you okay?" he asked genuinely very concerned and confused
"Uh-It's-my-dad-I don't know how to explain, he's in trouble" she replied anxiously as a small tremor could be heard "I don't know what to do, maybe there's something in his lab that could help"
Another sound, almost like an explosion "good Idea, go look there" he says as he turns to see whats going on "I'll go see what's going on"
"Danny, I don't think there' anything you can do we should sti-" she requested, but danny was already running towards the noise before she finished. GREAT! Just great! all alone while he's going toward that thing! What's he gonna do? why dad, why me what do these ghost things want? Oh well, there's bound to be something in dad's space.
As Danny runs toward the danger, he grabs the daggers out of his backpack and transforms into ONYX HAZE, and before anyone notices he turns the corner, daggers in hand and with a loud CRAASH! he leaps from the control room down to where the commotion was ensuing.
"What is this thing who are you?" Stone exclaimed!
"I am the Ghoosttt Kinggg!" He began "I'm Here for Raide!"
"So your who James warned us about"
"Ah yes, Him, Onyx Haze, though i guess there's a new one already" He remarked looking at Danny "I guess Raide never mentioned to anyone that we were connected, The professor is the on who allowed for us to finally enter to earth again"
The Ghost king launched toward Raide, and in a flash of bright red light and a giant burst of energy, seemed to envelop and merge with Raide's body. Leaving a formless flowing red shroud of energy in where The Professor was. As this all happened Danny jumped toward the figure aggressively slashing at it with his daggers, and stone was preoccupied with a grayish-purple wraith that had launched itself at Ms. Joules
"Let's go!" Lane called to the other onlookers, who were VT Board members and scientists, after realizing this was not something he wanted to get caught in the middle of whatever was going on. The group marched out and toward the elevator.
Kasey had definitely found something In her dad's office- it looked like a armor suit and there were these weird giant blasters. when does dad have time for all these projects she thought to herself. Then she saw a note saying KASEY: In case things go wrong, I've been meaning to test to see if she has powers.
